PS: I have no PS experience, so I don't know which works best. Tip 2: Topaz recommended Workflow and Settings work better for me at least 97% (made-up) of the time. Then compare the pics side by side and delete your least favorite. For me, the defaults are much better >97% (made-up) of the time than my best guess. Tip: Always use the Topaz defaults and start from there.
#Topaz sharpen ai vs nik sharpener software
For example, Sharpen AI is a lot better than Nik. I am using Topaz Sharpen AI and after some experimentation am often getting good results running my files through the software twice, once applying whatever the recommended setting is (say one of the motion blur options) but and then also applying to that amended file a different setting (say one of the out of focus options). "are you able to sharpen only select areas with it?"īoth Topaz DeNoise and Sharpen AI V4.0.2 version has the "Masking Tool Icon" ("Selectively sharpen your image") at the bottom right of the screen, just to the left of the (too) tiny "Trash Can" icon.Ĭlick on the "Masking Tool Icon" and many (seven) categories (selection, brush sizes, +-, etc., Clear Mask, Invert Mask, Color Mask, Overlay, Color, etc.) appear on the far right top of the page. I have not tested De Noise yet but the other three are really fabulous, a lot better than other existing tools.

Also, are you able to sharpen only select areas with it?

I havE, use and like Gigapixel and Topaz Denoise AI. There is an updated version available now. Is Topaz Sharpen AI superior to sharpen in Photoshop.
